タカサゴクロサギ Ixobrychus flavicollis は,中国からインド,パキスタン,バングラディシュ, 東南アジア,パプアニューギニア,ソロモン諸島,オーストラリアにかけて分布する (del Hoyo et al. 1992).国内での正式な記録は,1981年5月4日に新潟県粟島において鳥類標識調査中に捕獲された個 体が初めてである (風間 1981). この記録の前にも,1970年4月29日に長崎県の男女群島で記録があ るほか,1981年5月3日に千葉県の松岸海岸でも記録があるが,記載された特徴は本種と同定するには 不十分であるほか,掲載または資料として残っている写真も,本種を同定するには至らない.粟島で の記録後は,南西諸島を中心に稀な飛来が確認されるだけであった.しかし,2003年以降は毎年記録 されており,関東でも2005年に東京都大島 (東京都八丈ビジターセンター 2005),2006年には同都三 宅島(山本 私信)で確認されている.しかし,神奈川県では過去に記録されていない (日本野鳥の会 神奈川支部 2002).また,今回の記録は内陸部での記録であるが,今までの本種の記録は主に離島か 海岸沿いで,本土の内陸部での記録は広島県での保護記録(福本ら 1990)のみであった.筆者らは, 神奈川県の内陸部で鳥類標識調査中に本種を捕獲し標識したので,詳細を報告する.
