Tanulmanyunkban a Visegradi Negyek 10 jelentős varosat hasonlitjuk ossze keresztmet-szeti adatok (2015. ev) alapjan. Egy harom (tarsadalmi, kornyezeti es gazdasagi rezili-encia) komponensből allo reziliencia index kialakitasaval merjuk ezen varosok rugalmas ellenallokepesseget, rangsoroljuk azokat. Jelentős elteresek tapasztalhatok a vizsgalatba bevont varosok adaptacios kapacitasa tekinteteben. Habar gazdasagi ertelemben a Vi-segradi Negyek fővarosai tekinthetők a legellenallobbnak, ugyanakkor a tarsadalmi es a kornyezeti reziliencia komponens eseteben eredmenyeik inkabb atlagosak vagy atlagon aluliak. Kijelenthető, hogy egy varos gazdasagi sikere nem feltetlenul jelent nagyobb mer-tekű rezilienciat: a gazdasagi ertelemben sikeres varos szukseges, de nem elegseges feltetele a reziliens varosnak. In this study 10 settlements from the Visegrad countries are compared applying cross-sec-tional data (year 2015). The adaptive capacity of them is measured by an own-developed resilient index and a rank is created. This index is formed by three components (social, en-vironmental and economic resilience component). Significant differences could be revealed related to the adaptive capacity of the selected settlements. From economic perspective the capital cities of the Visegrad countries are most resilient, but regarding the social and the environmental components their results are average or below average. It can be stated, that the economic success of a city does not necessarily mean greater resilience: an economically successful city is a necessary but not sufficient condition for a resilient city.
