The Yourdon Structured Method and the Vienna Development Method have been used together, in various ways, by several R & D groups in the industry. BNFL is tracking, and building on, the successes of these groups as part of a programme of work with the University of Manchester to produce an integrated software development method suitable for wide-spread use within BNFL. This paper looks at the method proposed in this research and the results of application to a realistic case study.
