The study on the economic efficiency of fungicides and insecticides used in spring barley crops was conducted at Boguchwala in 2012–2014. The average percent of leaf area infected by pathogens varied from 65.0% to 74.4%, while the average damage caused by Oulema spp. was 63.8%. The effectiveness of applied fungicides ranged from 48.3% to 76.4% and insecticide treatments from 54.5% to 95.8%. The surplus of the saved barley production ranged from 207 to 952 PLN/ha. The cost coverage index ranged from 0.1 to 9 .1, whereas the treatment profitability index from 1.0 to 20.1. The percentage cost index ranged from 1.4 to 46.0 respectively.
