Summary The study was conducted in the years 2011–1013 at the experimental fields of Research Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice and the Agricultural School in Powiercie. The aim of the investigation was to develop a new way method of setting yellow sticky traps for early monitoring of Chamaepsila rosae (Fabr.) in carrot fields. The yellow sticky traps were positioned at 30°, 45°, 90° angles relative to the ground surface. The traps angled at 45° were more effective in trapping the first and second generation of carrot fly than the traps which were positioned at 30° and 90°.
