Summary The aim of the study was to assess the possibility of reducing the content of zearalenone by soil bacteria of the genus Rhodococcus in model conditions. The experiment was carried out for 72 hours in a pepton broth as well as in a buffer, controlling the amount of toxin every 24 hours. The results showed that the tested strains of Rhodococcus bacteria were able to reduce of zearalenone content in relation to the control samples. The degree of reduction of zearalenone content was dependent on the bacteria strain as well as time incubation and environment, in which the process was conducted. In the samples collected during the incubation derivatives were not observed.

Assessment of the possibility of zearalenone removal by soil bacteria of the genus Rhodococcus
