Al mismo tiempo, muchas mujeres se apropiaban de la palabra hablada y escrita para influir sus cotidianos mediante rumores, gritos y cartas; y otras recurrian a la justicia para quejarse de los abusos y maltratos de las autoridades, y denunciar las violencias ejercidas contra ellas. Las lenguas y los cuerpos femeninos activos y en libertad molestaron a los hombres del poder, y solo cuando se instauro la Casa de Recogidas (1723) se tranquilizaron algo sus temores frente al desborde femenino, que no era sino un cierto poder declinado individualmente que podia cuestionar el orden social y, segun ellos, por contagio, generar la perdicion de la sociedad. EnglishAround 1670, the bishop of Santiago Fray Diego de Humanzoro voiced his indignation about the proliferation of erotic-affective relations between magistrates of the Royal Court and women «of any sorts». He also greatly protested about the audacity and rebellion of a few nuns. Meanwhile, numerous women appropriated spoken and written speech to report the abuses and mistreatments exerted by the authorities. They denounced the violence against themselves. These free femenine active bodies and tongues upset the men in power. These powerful men felt vindicated when the Casa de Recogidas was created (1773) in order to calm down these womanish excesses which were nothing else than individually stated power that would effectively question the social order and, according to the men of power, generate by contagion the loss of society.
