In this article, we analyse data collected in an extensive study with 40 interviews and 1112 questionnaires, applied to teachers of all school levels. In order to treat the question about the role of intuition in ethical thought, we discuss data where teachers perspectives emphasise the intuitive and emotional components of professional ethics. Questionnaires data suggest that there are significant differences between teachers in the sense that the younger teachers in the profession, of feminine gender, and teachers of the youngest presents major indices of intuitionist perspective, in comparison with the other teachers. These data are crossed with interview data in order to a comprehensive interpretation.
