In response to a call inviting submissions of Caribbean digital literary works, Leonardo Flores (2017) questions the relevance of talking about electronic literature1 in terms of national or regional distinctions as we usually do in the case of non-digital cultures. He highlights that the former depends more on (global) technological developments and international influences than on national or regional traditions. Digital technologies represent such a radical change of paradigm, he argues, in line with an often cited argument, that we should consider electronic literature as an international or even postnational phenomenon.
