Our aim is to transpose the polarization control by mechanical stress usuallyapplied to single mode fibers, to the (TM01, TE01,HEev21,HEod21) annular modefamily. Nevertheless, the quasi degeneracy of these four modes makes thesituation more complex than with the fundamental mode HE11. We propose a simpledevice based on periodic perturbation and mode coupling to produce the radiallypolarized TM01 mode or at least one single of the four modes at the extremityof an arbitrarily long fiber, the conversion to TM01 mode being achievable byclassical crystalline plates.
