Exhaust gases froro an internal corobustion engine, alternatively powered by gasoline or by liquefied petroleuro gas, were analysed for polynuclear aroroatic hydrocarbons. The engine operated a Iift truck for the handling of warehause goods. A corobined condensation-filtration apparatus was constructed for saropling of the exhausts. The basic steps of the analytical procedure are suroroarized here. Several polycyclic aroroatic hydrocarbons were identified and deterroined both in the gasoline engine and in the liquefied petroleuro gas engine exhausts. In the liquefied petroleuro gas engine exhausts, all detected polynuclear hydrocarbons were present in significantly lower concentrations.
