DOI: 10.12957/rqi.2016.20184 Abstract The overall objective of this study is to analyze mechanisms for managing the execution of public contracts by the Federal Public Administration, such as inspection, quality control and deadlines, application of legal and administrative sanctions and promoting transparency in order to protect the public interest involved as well as to produce diagnoses that generate alternatives to overcome the main problems such as gifts in the management process, given the interdisciplinary nature of the research based on the contribution of different regions of Brazil. The methodology of empirical research was based on the quantitative aspect, from varying tables, and the qualitative aspect, from the wealth of information collected. The results presented demonstrated that electronic trading prevailed as the bidding modality of contracts surveyed. This helped to establish conclusions about the proposals for legislative improvement suggested, including the possibility of implementing control of the execution of public contracts for results Keywords : Federal Public Procurement Administrative Management; Efficientism; Models of Private Management Resumo O objetivo geral do trabalho foi analisar mecanismos de gestao da execucao de contratos administrativos pelos orgaos da Administracao Publica Federal, como fiscalizacao, controle de qualidade e prazos, aplicacao das sancoes juridico-administrativas e promocao da transparencia, de modo a proteger o interesse publico envolvido, bem como produzir diagnosticos capazes de gerar alternativas para superar os principais problemas e indefinicoes presentes no processo de gestao, tendo em vista o carater interdisciplinar da pesquisa com base no aporte de distintas regioes do Brasil. A metodologia da pesquisa empirica baseou-se no aspecto quantitativo, a partir de tabelas variaveis, e no aspecto qualitativo, a partir da riqueza das informacoes colhidas. Os resultados apresentados demonstraram que o pregao eletronico preponderou como modalidade licitatoria dos contratos pesquisados. Isso colaborou para estabelecer as conclusoes acerca das propostas de aprimoramento legislativo apresentadas, inclusive com a possibilidade de implementacao de controle da execucao dos contratos administrativos por resultados.
