生後5日齢で頸部心臓逸所症と診断されたホルスタイン種乳牛が2度分娩した後,不受胎と慢性乳房炎により7歳1 カ月齢で病理解剖に供された.頸部皮下には大量の脂肪沈着が認められ,心膜はハンモック状を呈し,第一頸椎から尾 側へ33cmの部位から第四肋骨内側面まで達していた.心臓は勾玉状を呈し,心尖を頭側,心底を尾側に向けていた. 心臓の形態異常として右心室肥大,大血管異常として両頸動脈起始異常,動脈管開存及び肺動脈拡張が認められた.胸 骨は大小17個の骨片で構成されており,逆三角形を呈していた.本疾患は合併奇形や成長に伴う心機能の不適応によ り死亡に至るが,本症例は心臓の位置や血管走行に異常が認められたものの,大量の脂肪組織による頸部心臓の保護と 右心室肥大による循環確保で長期生存及び正常な泌乳能力が認められた1例であった. ―キーワード:頸部心臓逸所症,乳牛,長期生存. 日獣会誌 67,405~408(2014)
