This study sought to design a cognitive behavioral program to develop emotional intelligence among married women in Riyadh, to examine the impact of this in strengthening marital compatibility, and to verify the period of continued effectiveness of the cognitive behavioral program within a month and a half of the completion of the training of the experimental group. The study sample consisted of 12 married woman, with ages ranging from 24 to 49. The scales of emotional intelligence and marital compatibility )pre / post) were applied to the experimental and control groups. The findings revealed differences in the mean scores of the experimental group in the scales of emotional intelligence and marital compatibility in favor of the pretest. The findings also revealed differences in scales of emotional intelligence between the experimental group and the control group on pre-test in favor of the experimental group, and the study revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the experimental group on emotional intelligence between the post-test and further measurement.
