Background. Typically, the step test is used to assess the physical performance that is determined by the condition of the cardio-respiratory system. The latter, in turn, is associated with the nervous, endocrine and immune systems, which collectively determine the level of adaptation of the body. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect on the step test of natural adaptogens and associated changes in a number of parameters of cardio-respiratory, autonomic nervous and immune systems and metabolism.
