The objective of this work to define the best planting configuration to some productive components of the jatropha crop grown in the Wasteland Paraíba region. The experiment was conducted under field conditions in EMEPA-PB where the design was a randomized blocks and treatments consist of four different planting densities (833, 1,111, 1,666 and 2,500 plants ha -1) with four replications. We used the localized irrigation system with turbulent flow model microsprinklers 7110 Hadar (Naan Dan Jain Brazil) with a flow rate of 29.0 L h-1 using an emitter per plant. The irrigation management was carried out via weather data using the Penman-Monteith equation. From the 420 days after seedling emergence during flowering were determined yield components, number of fruit branches and plant-1 ha-1, inflorescence number plant-1 and ha-1, number of plant-1 clusters and ha-1. The average values of number of fruit branches ha-1 number of ha-1 clusters suffer significant influence of plant density in dense crops, which verifies that the denser planting for the crop is feasible.
