Water is the basic input of the survival of all species and the development indicator of a region, moreover, it is one of the essential factors in agriculture, requires the use of new technologies for a more rational use of this input in the search for sustainability, the use of hydrogel of organic origin. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of organic origin hydrogel in domeloeiro initial growth. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse located at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará Campus Sobral. The experimental design was a split plot with four replications, the parcelasformadas by four irrigation levels (0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 liters trays) and subparcelascom or semhidrogel, each unit experimental20 plants. The variables analyzed were plant height, stem diameter and number of leaves. In the variable blade height corresponding 1,47L.dia provided the largest height among the treatments (3,86cm), despite the use of the hydrogel does not affect the time. To stem diameter using the hydrogel showed superior results compared to no hydrogel. The stem diameter was not influenced by the applied blade.
