Grund sind technische und politische Entwicklungen, Diskussionen und Entscheidungen in Bibliotheken und Bibliotheksverbunden sowie die Veranderungen im Umfeld von Bibliotheken im Allgemeinen. Dieser Text stellt Argumente zusammen und fordert zur Diskussion dieser Situation auf. Bibliotheken sollten sich daruber klar werden, welche Verbunde, mit welchen Aufgaben und welchen Steuerungsformen, sie in Zukunft haben wollen. In Switzerland, the landscape of union catalogues and their hosting consortia has recently been in turmoil. Technical and political changes, discussions and decisions in libraries and library consortia, as well as the evolution of libraries at large have led to this situation. The following text summarizes arguments, but is also a call for discussion in which Swiss libraries should elaborate positions concerning future consortia and union catalogues, their responsibilities and governance.
