ストリッピング法に基づくガス溶解度測定装置を用いて, 水への悪臭6物質 (トリメチルアミン, メチルメルカプタン, 硫化メチル, 二硫化メチル, アセトアルデヒド, スチレン) の溶解度を0, 25, 50℃で実測した、得られたヘンリー定数の精度は±3%と推定される.また水中でイオン解離が生じるトリメチルアミンおよびメチルメルカプタンについては, 緩衝液への溶解度を気相濃度測定法によって測定し, pHと溶解度の関係を求めた.両物質ともに一段の解離を考えたモデル式で溶解度の実験値を相関することができたが, 得られた混合解離定数と文献からの熱力学的解離定数との間には若干の違いがあった.また, これらの実測値の他にアンモニアと硫化水素の文献値を加えて, 0℃から50℃における悪臭8物質のヘンリー定数とイオン解離定数の実験式をまとめた.
