アラニンとグリシンのSERS(Surface-enhanced Ramanscattering)スペクトルを測定した。この2種のアミノ酸の結晶と水溶液のラマンスペクトルとSERSスペクトルは著しく異なっている。また,溶媒,電位によってもSERSスペクトルは変化しており明らかな電位依存性を示している。そして,電極電位が-0.4または,-0.6Vの時,最も大きくシフトし,増強は最大となっている。この時のバソドの相対強度の変化,波数のシフトからアミノ基とカルボキシル基が共に銀作用電極に吸着していると結論づけた。
