Nowadays In this paper, the design of a robust PI controller for effective level control in the second poolof the irrigation main canal Guira de Melena is developed. A mathematical model that adequately describesthe dynamic behavior of the plant under study is obtained from system identification procedure. This model is characterized by its simplicity (first order with time delay). The robustness analysis of thedesigned PI controller vs parametric variations of the obtained mathematical model showed satisfactoryresults, and therefore the implementation of this controller is validated.
