W e im proved the H a rris^ corner detection m ethod and added the ra tio o f eigenvalues w h ich re­ present d iffe re n t d irections to the corner response,and thus the m ore corners were detected. Because the pos ition o f ve­ h ic le in video is changeable, the center o f the license p late is defined as stable p o in t,a n d vehicle type was recognized by the ra tio o f m atch ing corner. T he resu lts o f test ve rified the effectiveness o f th is method.
