BackgroundSodium butyrate (NaBu) is not only known to inhibitproliferation but also to increase the specific productiv-ity in cultivation of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells[1] – the most commonly used mammalian cell line forpharmaceutical protein production [2].
