BackgroundThymoquinone is one of the active ingredients of blackcumin (Nigella sativaL.) essential oil possessing anti-inflammatory, antineoplastic, neuro- and hepatoprotec-tive properties. Some of these properties were attributedto an antioxidant activity of thymoquinone, which seemsto be unlikely from its structure.
