Isobutylglucosinolate (1) was isolated from the root of Luvunga scandens (Roxb.) for the first time, which demonstrated an antioxidant activity with an IC 50  value of 30.1±0.2 μg/mL Additionally, two biological active phytosterols, named β-sitosterol (2) and stigmasterol (3) were also isolated from Luvunga scandens (Roxb.), showing the low cytotoxicity against human colon adenocarcinoma cell line (HT29) with IC 50  values of 124±1 μg/mL and 141±3 μg/mL, respectively. The chemical structure of all isolated compounds (1–4) was identified by spectroscopic analyses.
