During a search for new flavonoids, two new natural products identified by chemical and spectral methods as quercetin 3- O-(2″,3″,6″-triacetylglucoside) and apigenin 4′- O-(6″- p-coumaroylglucoside) have been found in the fern Dryopteris villarii. In addition a new fern constituent (kaempferol 3- O-(6″-acetylglucoside)-7- O-rhamnoside) together with kaempferol 3, 7-di- O-rhamnoside have been identified in this fern. Dryopteris villarii is the only Dryopteris species having a number of acylated flavonoid glycosides.
