What should educators understand about the online lives of today’s young people? It may be tempting to argue that digital natives are entirely different from previous generations, notes Kappan’s editor, but the evidence suggests otherwise. Computers and mobile devices have had some powerful influences on the ways in which children live their lives, but let’s not exaggerate the extent to which childhood itself has changed.
