Types and other material of the Australasian species ofPtecticus are reviewed. One new species is described from NewGuinea. Revision of the relevant type-specimens resulted in theproposal of six new synonyms. Lectotypes are designated forthree species and identities of other four species arediscussed. Additional taxonomic notes and new distributionalrecords are given for seven Australasian species.
