STUDY OF THE TIMING OF BLOOD WITHDRAWAL AND THE ANALYSIS OF LACTATE AFTER THREE INTENSITIES OF RUN Five male orienteering runners run for three times the distance of 1600m in running track (400m). The stimulus were with progressive intensity and with 10 minutes of passive recuperation in supine position. Blood was withdrawn to determine the lactate from the ear lobe blood samples using the eletro-enzimatic method. The velocities and the concentration of lactate were adjusted to the exponential curves by means the following criterions: in the curve "P" we utilized the most elevated concentration obtained after each stimulus independently of the moment that it happened; in the curves "A" and "B" we maintained the same criterion for the third stimulus but in the first curve of the submaximum stimulus we made use of the most elevated concentration obtained in the two first minutes of recuperation and in the second curve we utilized the concentrations obtained in the first minute of recuperation. The velocities were interpolated to 2.0 and 4.0 mmol x l "1 of lactate using the curves "P", "A" and "B" didn’t present significatives differences (ANOVA P > 0.05).
