We discuss recent laboratory experiments with rotating superconductors andshow that three so far unexplained experimentally observed effects (anomalousacceleration signals, anomalous gyroscope signals, Cooper pair mass excess) canbe physically explained in terms of a possible interaction of dark energy withCooper pairs. Our approach is based on a Ginzburg-Landau-like model ofelectromagnetic dark energy, where gravitationally active photons obtain massin the superconductor. We show that this model can account simultaneously forthe anomalous acceleration and anomalous gravitomagnetic fields around rotatingsuperconductors measured by Tajmar et al. and for the anomalous Cooper pairmass in superconductive Niobium, measured by Cabrera and Tate. It is arguedthat these three different physical effects are ultimately differentexperimental manifestations of the simultaneous spontaneous breaking of gaugeinvariance, and of the principle of general covariance in superconductivematerials.

Possible Measurable Effects of Dark Energy in Rotating Superconductors
