Choledochoduodenostomy (CDD) has been reported as a more effective treatment of CBD stones than T-tube drainage but it is regarded as a last resort or obsolete therapeutic method due to fears of higher mobidity, cholangitis, "sump" syndrome and liver dysfunction.
