This paper presents the content of a lesson unit issued from the television distance education course Information Technology. It is a mandatory course of the undergraduate program of computer science from Université Laval. Several television programs were used to favor the development of professional abilities needed in the workplace. The first part of this paper summarizes the knowledge that students must acquire. The second part emphasizes the use of television to favor the emergence of the needed professional abilities.
