the forward jet playing the role of a hard probe is analyzed in terms of QCDdipole (color-singlet q\bar q) configurations in the transverse position space.There are sizable differences with the analogous q\bar q configurations of ahard photon which may lead to significant phenomenological consequences on theanalysis of hard processes using a forward jet probe, e.g. at the Tevatron.
