The SN1987A detection through neutrinos was an event of great importance inneutrino physics, being the first detection of neutrinos created outside oursolar system, and then inaugurating the era of experimental neutrino astronomy.The data have been largely studied in many different analysis, and haspresented several challenges in different aspects, since both supernovaexplosion dynamics and neutrino flavour conversion in such extreme environmentstill have many unknowns. In addition, the low statistics also invoke the needof unbinned statistical methods to compare any model proposal with data. Inthis paper we focus on a discussion about the most used statistical analysisinterpretation, presenting a pedagogical way to understand and visualize thiscomparison.
