There is a proposal to send a neutrino beam from the Protvino acceleratorcomplex located in Russia to the detector facility called `Oscillation Researchwith Cosmics in the Abyss' (ORCA) in the Mediterranean sea to study neutrinooscillation. This is called the P2O experiment which will have a baseline of2588 km. In this paper, we carry out a sensitivity study to extract the bestpossible physics sensitivity of the P2O experiment. In particular, we study theeffect of antineutrino runs, the role of background as well as the impact ofcontrolling the systematic uncertainties vis-a-vis the statistics.
