Isospin violating hadronic decays of the \eta and \eta' mesons into 3\pimesons are driven by a term in the QCD Lagrangian proportional to the massdifference of the d and u quarks. The source giving large yield of the mesonsfor such decay studies are pp interactions close to the respective kinematicalthresholds. The most important physics background for \eta,\eta'\to\pi\pi\pi iscoming from direct three pion production reactions. In case of the \eta mesonthe background for the decays is relatively low (approx 10%). The purpose ofthis article is to provide an estimate of the direct pion production backgroundfor the \eta'\to 3\pi decays. Using the inclusive data from COSY-11 experimentwe have extracted differential cross section for the pp\to pp-multipionproduction reactions with the invariant mass of the pions equal to the \eta'meson mass and estimated an upper limit for the signal to background ratio forstudies of the \eta'\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 decay.
