Reports of methicillin-resistantStaphylococcus aureus (MRSA) harboring themecC gene have increased in the UK since first being described. To our diagnosticS. aureus multiplex PCR, amecC primer set was designed and implemented, and then the prevalence in our patient population was investigated.
