A novel experiment for determination of the charge related to vortices inthin superconducting film is proposed and a number of related experimentalset-ups are also theoretically considered. The methods are based on theTorricelli-Bernoulli effect in superconductors and the phenomenology of theeffect is briefly discussed. The vortex charge is expressed via the effectivemass of the Cooper pairs, thus both parameters, inaccessible by now, could besimultaneously determined. The experiment would require layeredmetal-insulator-superconductor structures and standard electronics employed inkinetic measurements. The quality of the insulator-superconductor interfaceshould be high enough as to allow for observation of electric field effectssimilar to those investigated in superconducting field-effect transistors. Thedevelopment of layer-by-layer growth technology of oxide superconductorsprovides unique possibility for investigation of new fundamental effects inthese materials. In particular, the structures necessary for determination ofthe vortex charge could be used to study the superconducting surface Halleffect, Bernoulli effect, the superfluid density, etc..
