The aim of the present work is to propose abrand-new algorithm based on an adaptive double thresholdnonlinear anisotropic diffusion equation DTPDE to detectand track moving dim targets against complex clutteredbackground in infrared IR image sequences. We also illus-trate the performance comparisons of the proposed algo-rithm DTPDE and two-dimensional least mean squares TDLMS on real IR image sequence data. Algorithms arecurrently available to reduce background clutter and ran-dom noise and to enhance target detectability. Early workin infrared search and track systems was adequate for earlyapplications in which the targets were bright compared tothe background clutter.
