There were special relationships among the COMECON membersduring the period of the centrally planning system.Czechoslovak trade was naturally biased towards thesecountries. The goal of this paper is to find out if there stillexists any export bias towards the Russian or the exCOMECONmarkets. In our research approach we use gravity models. Werevealed that taking into consideration GDP, geographicaldistance and institutions there is no bias towards the Russianor the CIS markets. But we discovered a bias towards theexCOMECON contemporary members of the EU.
