The IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS) is held annually, sponsored by the Plasma Science and Applications Committee (PSAC) of the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Science Society (NPSS). The 48th IEEE NPSS ICOPS was organized ONLINE from September 12 to 16, 2021. The ICOPS2021 was initially planned as an onsite physical conference to be held in Stateline, Lake Tahoe, Nevada, from June 20 to 24, 2021. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was shifted to online virtual conference. The conference&#x2019;s technical program included a wide range of plasma science and technology topics, which ranged from basic and fundamental research to traditional and emerging technology applications. Over 380 accepted abstracts represented plasma scientists from 28 countries, with the total number of registered attendees over 425. More than 300 abstracts were published in IEEE Xplore after the conference. The program also included a one-day Minicourse titled &#x201C;Plasma Spectroscopy: The Full Spectrum From X-Rays to Radio Waves.&#x201D; This short course with ten outstanding lectures, which spanned a broad spectrum of plasma spectroscopy, was held on September 16, 2021, and attracted a record number of 83 participants from ten countries.
