In the title compound, C 29 H 21 FN 2 , the phenanthro tricyclic ring system is essentially planar with a maximum deviation of 0.030 (2) Å and makes dihedral angles between of 77.96 (6) and 37.18 (7)° with the dimethyl­phenyl and fluoro­phenyl rings, respectively. The crystal packing features weak C—H⋯π inter­actions involving the dimethyl­phenyl and other phenyl rings.
