In the title compound, [HgBr 2 (C 15 H 17 N 5 )], the Hg II  ion is tetra­hedrally coordinated by two N atoms of the  N -[1-(1 H -benzimidazol-2-yl)ethyl­idene-κ N ]-3-(1 H -imidazol-1-yl)propan-1-amine ligand, and two bromide anions. Inter­molecular benzimidazole–imidazole N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules into helical chains along the  b -axis direction and C—H⋯Br hydrogen bonds link these chains into layers parallel to the  bc  plane.
