In the title compound, [Cu(C 16 H 14 N 4 O) 2 ](C 6 H 2 N 3 O 7 ) 2 ·4C 3 H 7 NO, the Cu II  ion is located on a crystallographic inversion center and is coordinated in a distorted octa­hedral environment by four N atoms and two O atoms forming two long Cu—O bonds. One of the unique dimethyl­formamide solvent mol­ecules is disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.715 (6) and 0.285 (6). The crystal structure is stabilized by inter­molecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
