We study theoretically the excitonic nonlinearity in hybrid organic-inorganicRuddlesden-Popper perovskite thin films. The composite layered structure ofthese materials allows for flexible modulation of their excitonic responsebetween the limiting cases of single atomic layer and widequasi-two-dimensional quantum well. In particular, we demonstrate thattransverse electric field leads to the spatial separation of charge carrierswithin the inorganic layer, giving rise to strongly interacting excitonspossessing built-in dipole moment. Combined with exciton binding energy of theorder of hundreds of meVs, this makes hybrid perovskites an optimal platformfor tailoring of nonlinear optical response at reduced dimensionality.
