We propose an interaction-induced cooling mechanism for two-component coldfermions in an optical lattice. It is based on an increase of the ``spin''entropy upon localisation, an analogue of the Pomeranchuk effect in liquidHelium 3. We discuss its application to the experimental realisation of theantiferromagnetic phase. We illustrate our arguments with Dynamical Mean-FieldTheory calculations.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
