We report on the observation of optical spin-controlled modes from aquasicrystalline metasurface as a result of an aperiodic geometric phaseinduced by anisotropic subwavelength structure. When geometric phase defectsare introduced in the aperiodic structured surface, the modes exhibitpolarization helicity dependence resulting in the optical spin-Hall effect. Theradiative thermal dispersion bands from a quasicrystal structure were studiedwhere the observed bands arise from the optical spin-orbit interaction inducedby the aperiodic space-variant orientations of anisotropic antennas. Theoptical spin-flip behavior of the revealed modes that arise from the geometricphase pickup was experimentally observed within the visible spectrum bymeasuring the spin-projected diffraction patterns. The introduced ability tomanipulate the light-matter interaction of quasicrystals in a spin-dependentmanner provides the route for molding light via spin-optical aperiodicartificial planar surfaces.
