As a first step towards the understanding of the thermodynamical propertiesof quasiperiodic structures, we have performed both analytical and numericalcalculations associated with succesive hierarchical approximations tomultiscale fractal energy spectra. We show that, in a certain range oftemperatures, the specific heat displays log-periodic oscillations as afunction of the temperature. We exhibit scaling arguments that allow forrelating the mean value as well as the amplitude and period of the oscillationsto the characteristic scales of the spectrum.Comment: 6 latex pages, 6 embedded PS figure
