Motivated by string theory corrections of dilatonic gravity and Born-Infeldnonlinear electromagnetic field, we consider the BTZ black holes with these twogeneralizations. It will be shown that the generalization to dilatonic gravityintroduces novel properties into thermodynamics of the black holes which wereabsent in the purely gravity case. Furthermore, the possibility of tuning outpart of the dilatonic effects is explored in the Born-Infeld generalization.
