We present precise theoretical predictions for the absolute branchingfractions of $\Lambda_c^+ \to \Lambda \ell^+ \nu_\ell\,(\ell=e,\mu)$ decays inthe covariant confined quark model. This study is motivated by two recent andaccurate measurements of the absolute branching fractions of $\Lambda_c^+ \to pK^- \pi^+$ and $\Lambda_c^+ \to \Lambda e^+ \nu_e$ by the Belle Collaborationat the KEKB and by the BESIII Collaboration at the BEPCII. Our predictions forthe branching fractions are consistent with both experimental results. We alsoprovide detailed numerical results for differential decay distributions andpolarization observables.
